Chevy Electrifies with the 2016 Chevy Volt

Even with Gas prices dropping, the market is still anticipating better quality electric offerings.  Well look no more.  Chevy continues to lead the pack with their newly unveiled 2016 Chevy Volt.  This is much more than just an electric car.

Westside1Chevy continues to prove that it deserves the hype and attention.  They unveiled the 2016 Chevy Volt during the 2015 CES event. It comes with a revised front fascia.  This time, it has lower and upper front grilles. It also comes with modern LED daytime running lights on its front bumper.  The sides of the car has a sloped roofline that is clearly visible.  They announced that it will come with improved acceleration, noise reduction, less vibration, reduced harshness and a more capable steering system.  The car will also drive with twin motors.

It is also 45 kg less heavy than that of the vehicle’s predecessor but has an increased efficiency of 5 – 12%.  A 1.5 liter 4 cylinder engine is available as well.  It will have a direct injection system, a compression ratio of 12.5:1 and also recirculation of exhaust fumes that have cooled down.

One of the most important components of an electric vehicle is most assuredly the battery.  The 2016 Chevy Volt will make use of a battery that Chevrolet has jointly developed with the LG Chem Company.  It is said to store 20% more energy despite its lighter weight than the previous model.
